A compact and user friendly multi-gas measurement system to support engine and vehicle development
The NCEM is a portable and simple measurement instrument for exhaust-gas components NOx, O2, PM, and PN. Because the sensors are directly installed in the exhaust flow, measurements can be performed in real time with fast response. Vehicle data can be acquired through OBD2, therefore, engine information and sensor signals can be sampled simultaneously. In addition, location information during road driving can also be added via GPS. Because the NCEM is equipped with these functions, it can be used as an emission monitoring tool from engine development in the lab to real world driving conditions. The NCEM is not limited to car engines; it can contribute to the development of many types of internal combustion engines.

Apply direct-insertion compact PM / PN sensor
A simple and selectable multi-gas NCEM measurement system to support engine and vehicle development
The NCEM is a portable and simple measurement instrument for exhaust-gas components NOx, O2, PM, and PN. Because the sensors are directly installed in the exhaust flow, measurements can be performed in real time with fast response.

Sensor Lineup
PM/PN sensor
The world's first exhaust pipe direct measurement PM/PN sensor (since March 2017) measures with its small and compact construction PM (particulate mass) and PN (particulate number) simultaneously and in real time.
The diffusion charging technology is applied and improved with additional NTK's development experiences.
NOx sensor
At times of increasing demand for NOx measurements, NTK is offering its own NOx sensor for the NCEM. This sensor has 2gas detection chambers to detect both the oxygen and nitrogen oxide concentrations, which enables simultaneous and linear
measurements.
AFR sensor
The AFR sensor uses oxygen ion conductivity of a zirconia solid electrolyte. Exhaust gas is taken into the gas detection chamber, and the oxygen content at this time is detected to enable high precision measurements of the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas in a linear fashion.

Application areas
Many potential application areas to match with your testing needs
1.Engine evaluation on an engine bench
Directly inserting the sensor into the exhaust pipe makes it possible to measure changes in the concentration of the target substance without delay, and a maximum sampling interval of 10 ms makes it possible to rapidly collect data continuously. Furthermore, the fast response of the sensor is used to optimize the feedback control of the engine.
2.Chassis dyno testing
Measuring the concentration and gas flow rate makes it possible to calculate the exhaust gas emission amount in each driving mode without using a CVS (constant volume sampling) system.
The fast response of the NCEM’s sensors and synchronization with vehicle data via OBD2 make it applicable to engine durability monitoring as well.
3.RDE monitor(RDE = Real Driving Emission)
Setting up a PEMS system can be difficult and time consuming but the ease of use of the NCEM make measurements quick and simple.Both internal and independent test labs have found positive correlation with industry standard equipment.
With on road driving (RDE), the NCEM will have minimal impact on vehicle performance due to its small size and weight. Then NCEM can also simultaneously record vehicle data (OBD2) and location information (Internal GPS) which makes data analysis easier.
